Report: Cities of refuge for artists at risk – a model description (2019)

In a report funded by the Swedish Cultural Fund and the Cultural Fund for Sweden and Finland, models for Swedish cities of refuge are described with the aim of making it easier for Finnish-Swedish towns to take the step of becoming safe havens for artists at risk – writers, musicians or other cultural creators, journalists, bloggers etc. Sweden is the country in the world that today has most of the 70’s safe havens that exist throughout the world, while Finland only has one, Helsinki. The report is made in consultation with the national coordinator for ICORN (International Cities of Refuge Network) cities in Sweden and is completed in the autumn of 2019.
