Expert assignment: Chairperson for network support, Nordic Council of Ministers / Nordic Culture Point

The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture focuses on providing support to professional artists and cultural operators and facilitating their opportunities to travel in and collaborate with colleagues and organisations in the Nordic and Baltic countries. This involves the provision of financial support for travel, networks and residential centres.

The programme is open to professional artists, producers and other people involved in cultural activities from all sectors within the field of arts and culture in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Grants are given for

  • Mobility (travel) for individuals
  • Building of networks of people involved with cultural activities
  • Residential centres

Submitted applications are reviewed and approved by experts from all the Nordic and Baltic countries on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers / Nordic Culture Point. I am the chairperson for the group responsible for NETWORK SUPPORT, which allocates grants for “networking in the field of arts and culture in the Nordic and Baltic countries.”

Network support can be granted for activities that enable cooperation between different stakeholders, the establishment of new contacts, the development of partnerships and knowledge, and the exchanging of experiences. The networks should also serve as cultural, artistic and social structures between organisations, groups and/or individuals.

  • Short-term network support – grants for one-year networks, max. € 25,000 but not exceeding 70% of total costs.
  • Long-term network support – grants for three-year networks, max. € 150,000 but not exceeding 50% of total costs.

Networks must comprise partners from:

a) at least three Nordic countries or autonomous territories (Greenland, Faeroe Islands and Åland), or

b) at least three Baltic countries

c) a combination of at least three partners from the Nordic countries, the autonomous territories (Greenland, the Faeroe Islands and Åland) or the Baltic states.

Networks may also include parties who do not operate in the Nordic or Baltic countries.
