Board assignment (Vice Chair): Stockholms läns Blåsarsymfoniker (Stockholm County Wind Ensemble) with Länsmusiken i Stockholm and the Musikaliska Concert Hall
The Musikaliska Concert Hall on Nybro quay in Stockholm offers a wide variety of concerts for people of all ages – chamber music, family concerts, orchestras, world famous names and newcomers. Musikaliska is operated by the Stockholms läns blåsarsymfoniker association, which comprises the Blåsarsymfonikerna orchestra (Swedish Wind Ensemble) and Länsmusiken i Stockholm (regional music institution).

Since 2011, the concert hall has been the home venue for Blåsarsymfonikerna, whose professional musicians also meet children and young people across the county as a result of the organisation’s regional music assignment, which it carries out on behalf of the county council. The assignment is run under the name Länsmusiken in Stockholm, which also ensures that Stockholm’s many freelance musicians and ensembles connect with young people in the municipalities and at the Musikaliska Concert Hall.
The building, which is located at Nybrokajen 11/Stallgatan, is the oldest concert hall in Sweden. It was built for the Royal Academy of Music at the request of King Oscar II and was inaugurated in 1878. The architect was John Åbom, who also designed Berns and the Södra Teatern theatre.
Until 1971, the concert hall also housed the country’s top musical course of education, which included students such as Jussi Björling, Birgit Nilsson and Sixten Ehrling. The Nobel Prizes were awarded there until 1926. Recipients such as Wilhelm Röntgen and Marie Curie received their prizes in the premises.
Between 1998 and 2010, the concert hall was run by the Swedish State Concert, and the music continues now under the name Musikaliska – a new concert hall in Stockholm where love of music, youngsters’ desire to learn and an unrivalled history guide development.
